On the World Race I have the oppotunity to travel to South Africa, Swaziland, Mozambique, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam, India, Nepal, Moldova and Romania

I was really attracted to this idea of backpacking across the world, experiencing different cultures, bringing Christ's love to these nations and truly walking with Christ. It's an adventure. It's appeaaaling!!

I didn't realize the reality of what I had to do and give up to go on the race until I got accepted.

I would have to postpone graduation, fundraise $15,500, get vaccinations etc etc..

The doubts started rushing in.

It's not going to be a luxurious trip: living out of a backpack, sleeping in a tent, not knowing where we're sleeping next,
not having control, or being able to go out and eat whatever I'm craving and most of all I will be traveling with 5 other people 24/7
(This is an issue because I love my independence and alone time but former World Racers have made it clear.. alone time is limited to plugging in your earphones and turning the other way).
But abandonment, brokenness and dependence are all a part of being a disciple of Christ and I welcome it.

Letting go of these priveleges I feel I need and am entitled to will ultimately lead to freedom.
Imagine being unplugged from technology and social media for a week!
It's inconvenient and uncomforable but once you embrace it, you start really being in your life.

I challenge you to be in your life! Be still and see what God is doing.
