ok so…..much has happened since i last blogged. we left panajachel and began our race to the santa monica pier in los angeles, CA. we got on a bus that took us to san cristobal in mexico. after we arrived there our wonderful translator got us onto the bus that was about to leave. we got onto that bus and started our ridiculously long bus ride to mexico city.
the first movie that came on was in spanish. then paul asked elliott to go to the busdriver and ask him to turn on the subtitles for the next movie. elliott came back and said the next movie was going to be in english. but not only was it not in english it was a chinese movie with spanish. so pretty much we slept most of the way. we arrived at the airport about 24 hrs. before our flight was taking off…so we settled in. we moved in right in front of where we were going to check our bags the next morning. after we were there for a few hours we look over and there is the red team.
we couldn’t believe it. we didn’t know who else was flying. they stayed and hung out for a little bit, but then they had to go catch their flight. which was great for us…..we still had to wait about 16 hrs. no good. so we knew that we had probably lost that leg. well….we were there for a few more hours and then came the blue team. seriously….we had no idea we were going to run into them. so we all hung out most of the night. around 9 that night they left and went somewhere else to sleep. i went to sleep in my sleeping bag on the floor and slept until 330 the next morning. we woke up and got all of our stuff together and went to check in. we passed the blue team and told them that we would see them in LA. so we get in and wait….and wait, and wait. finally we get to go to our gate and about 10 min. later the blue team comes up. yeah….they were on the same flight. beautiful. so we all flew together to LA. once we landed it was a race to the pier. we lost. no good. laura lost a bag and paul got stopped at customs. did i mention that by this time the girls had not showered in 6 days. that’s right 6 days. but that’s ok….because we had starbucks.

the next day my mom and my sister came. we had so much fun. we went to venice beach and hung out there then went on a
search for our hotel. that only took about 3 hrs. it took us forever to get there. the oscars were that weekend and we had no idea. so we hung out a lot on hollywood blvd and watched them get ready for the oscars. we did not get to see any stars though….that was kind of sad. the last day they were here we got a tour in a limo. now that sounds like fun….but it wasn’t. it would have been if we didn’t have such a creepy driver. this was just a creepy man and he wa an awful driver. i never, ever get carsick….but this was awful. he would speed up and then come to a complete stop. he was showing us where the stars lived…he thought. half of the time he would tell us….this person might live here….maybe the next one.  it was crazy. the time that my mom and my sister were here was really awsome. but it wasn’t enough time and it made me miss home. but it was wonderful to see them.

we spent a few days at the dreamcenter in LA and then we were off to hong kong. the flight here was 15 hrs. we are now 14 hrs ahead from my home. pretty much we lost a whole day. the city is amazing. i love it…..although i would not want to live here. we met the family today that we are going to work with. they are so sweet and i know that they are gong to be such a blessing to us.
