last night the water got all the way up to the porch at the house we are staying at. in the street it was past our calves. a lot of the houses around us are flooded. the pastor said this happens about 2 or 3 times a year. the people here just dont seem to worried about it. augustine..our contact here said that they are just sleeping upstairs. the water is up to his waist at his house. i cant imagine something like this happening at home. people would be freaking out. but here they are just content and ok with what comes. i want this attitude. these people have such peace and joy it is amaizing.
eder was so funny last night. he was just swimming up and down the street. i got out my camara and he started jumping off the gate and doing tricks. he really likes seeing pictures of himself. all of the kids do actually.
laura, corey, paul, kim and me played slaps last night. i was great to hear that corey and kim already knew how to play. paul likes to go really slow to drive me crazy and it works. we had a lot of fun playing that last night. lots of banging on the table and yelling. the pastor came out to make sure we were all ok. i had to go to bed after losing twice in a row. which for any of you who have played with me….you know that was quite difficult. but tonight. no losing for me 🙂
tomorrow we leave and head for palenque. we are staying in some cabins. there are waterfalls there and it looks beautiful.
please be in prayer for the villages as they start cleaning up from the flood. also please pray for traveling tomorrow. that we will get there safely and that orange will make it without any problems. and please pray for me to win at slaps tonight 🙂 thanks!!!!
