today was another beautiful day!!! the weather here is absolutly amazing. it is very cloudy. the sun is only out for a little while. that makes the temp. really nice. especially while we are out doing ministry. everything is so gorgeous. the mountains and green grass. there are banana trees, orange trees. we even saw cocoa beans yesterday and there was a lady making the chocolate in the back. it was beautiful. i think that should be my next job. 🙂 today was a lot like the last two days. we went to a different village, did door to door ministry telling people about Jesus and inviting them to the service at night. then we came back for the service and laura and i did the kids ministry. all i did was paint faces. it was a lot of fun. a lot easier then yesterday because today i had a book with pictures in it.

i started my day taking a bucket shower. not as bad as i had imagined but i can see wanting a regular shower pretty soon. our toilets are awsome. basically the same thing as at home except there is no seat so we have to squat and we cant flush the toilet paper so we have to throw the paper in a trashcan next to the toilet. also….to flush it we have to pour water from a 5 gallon bucket (one of the same buckets from our shower) into the toilet. then it will flush….sometimes. the house we are staying in is cool. it is green and cement (everything is here) the guys stay upstairs on the roof in a little room. but in the mornings i go up and have my time with Jesus. i can see the whole village. i am not sure if i have ever seen so many dogs in my life. and they are hilarious. the lay right in the middle of the street and they dont care if we are coming with the car. they just lay. they dont move. and the chickens. my goodness. they just roam around everywhere. i love it.
yesterday we were at a house in the backyard and i made a comment about how cute the little baby chickens were. the man sure did pick one up and hand it to me. then corey (our wonderful interpreter) said he is giving it to you. i cant have a chicken. so i had to say no. i felt so bad. it was pretty funny. today is jessicas birthday. she is 24. so a couple people snuck off and went into town and got her a cake and a pinata. we had a little birthday party at lunch. there is a mexican tradition that the birthday person has to take a bite of their cake with no hands then everyone shoves their face in the cake. that was fun. she had cake up her nose. maybe when we get back tonight we will do the pinata. lots of fun. we have a day off tomorrow and the plan so far for some of us is to go hiking on one of the mountains and chase monkeys. im pretty excited about that. during ministry today we got to pray for almost everyone we talked to. we did not have an interpreter with us so we are not entirely sure what all was said. but i know that God was definatly working. in the other group a woman was healed and three people accepted Jesus as their Savior. Praise the Lord.
please continue to pray for our team….continued unity(we are becoming family quickly) they are all such a blessing to me, the villages we are ministering to…we are claiming them for the Lord and the kids….of course!!!!
i really do like comments 🙂 thanks a lot!!!
Dios te bendiga!!!!!
