To the MEN of P squad…
Thank you
Thank you for honoring us woman all week. From little task of finishing our food, to daily occurances of carrying our chairs, we are grateful for you. You took on the role of “men” so humbly, without even knowing how much impact it would have on us woman. Some of us needed to be reminded what chivalry was. Some of us needed to be reminded that we can be served. Some of us just needed to see men of God in action to remind us that they do in fact exist.
Thank you for showing us what real men of God look like. You shattered the lie that “real men don’t cry” because they do, and you weren’t afraid to cry in front of us because God was so evidently moving in your life. You always put our needs before yours, even it meant making sure we were warm during the night and that you had to shiver a little harder. You rallied around us and prayer over us. You heard our stories and instead of judging us, you embraced us. You sang a little bit louder in worship, and in those moments we knew that you weren’t only fighting for your behalf, but ours also. We know that you truly wanted to see our walls break down, and the chains fall off of us as well as yourself. Your actions gave us hope.
Thank you for opening up and not holding anything back. You guys danced with us. You broke it down with moves that you probably only do in your bedroom where no one can see. You trusted us to love you, dance moves and all. You shared the good, bad, and ugly about your life with us. Thank you for opening up and trusting us with that information. You promised to be a “safe place” for us, and let me tell you, we feel beyond safe with you guys on our squad.
With the thanks comes an apology. Sorry if we expected to be cared for by you. Sorry if we didn’t say “thank you” enough times. Sorry if we made you feel inferior, or not good enough, YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH. I promise we will guard our hearts by honoring you.
From day one you guys made it apparent you were for us. You came in looking for ways to help us, to be gentlemen. You gave up your tents for us. You built fires for us. You made sure we didn’t get “taken” in the market. You helped us in any way you could, and if you couldn’t, you made sure someone else could. None of that went unnoticed or under appreciated. By day two we were saying we have the best guys on our squad, and that is not a lie. We are so blessed by you men.
Remember that you are loved, honored, appreciated, strong, looked up to, cherished, fought for, worthy, have authority, warriors, YOU ARE MEN OF GOD. We ladies of P Squad are so grateful for you and can’t wait to walk out the next year of our lives with you guys. Our lives will never be the same because of you men.
We love you,
Your sisters in Christ
