After nearly 40 hours of traveling we arrived in Manila, Philippines.
The World Race has been an adventure from the very beginning. Once I was accepted into the program I was told to meet In Tennessee for training. The biggest question I got was, "What are you going to be trained in?" My response, "I have no idea." The next most common question, "When do you leave for the race?" My response, "I don't know." "OK, well, what are you going to be doing?" "I'm not sure." My mom and all of my type A friends had a very difficult time with those answers, but I just smiled and said, "It's all part of the Race
Well, in late August I recieved word that I needed to meet the rest of the squad in the Atlanta airport by 3:00 pm on September 6th. However, I still had no idea whether or not I'd be leaving the country that day. But I had about three weeks to prepare. A week later I found out I would be spending the first month of my race in Manila, the capitol city of the Philippines. However, I still had no idea of WHAT i'd be doing.
Here it is September 12th. I am soaking in the 80% humidity if the Philippines and I STILL have no idea what I'll be doing for the month. But not to worry, my hopes are high. Tomorrow I will meet my contact who will HOPEFULLY give me some detail about what my team and I will be assigned to.
As soon as I find out, I will let you know . . . stay tuned
