God warns us that the path we are called to walk as His followers will not always be easy to follow. It will be narrow and winding and steep. At times, it will take us outside of our comfort zone, through highs and lows that will leave us exhilarated and exhausted. But we are comforted in the fact that He will walk with us, leading us along when things get scary and hard.
My path has recently taken an unexpected turn. God has called me to follow Him on an amazing journey that allows me to spend time loving His people while enjoying the beauty of His creation. He has set the great commission before me and challenged me to fulfill it. This opportunity is wonderful, but it also requires big sacrifices and giant leaps of faith. I have been accepted into a program called the World Race, and I could not be more excited to grab onto God’s hand and follow Him into the nations to share the good news.
The World Race is a mission trip to 11 countries in 11 months. The journey begins in January and takes me to various countries throughout the Caribbean, Southeast Asia, and South Africa. I will live in a new country each month, working at a local ministry to help the community and spread the light of the gospel. It may sound crazy, but I am so excited to sleep on floors of orphanages or tents in the wilderness, and to become a part of the community for a month and be able to make a real difference. We won’t always have beds, or roofs, or running water, but we will always have joy while serving the Lord.
The financial cost of the trip is small for all I will be doing and all the lives I will be impacting. I need to raise $16,000 and am writing to ask your support. Any amount you can give will be an immense blessing to me, and more importantly to those I seek to serve. Spiritually, I will need all the prayers you can send my way.
