Marie is her name, she is a cute little blonde haired woman. She is shorter than me and her smile is full of joy. I met her last week, on a Sunday at her husbands place of fellowship and G** told me, “She will be important to you.” Not sure what that will look like since she is serving the Father here in Vietnam and I will move on to Cambodia in a couple of weeks. Her heart and passion is for woman who are being sold and treated un-fairly. As the time of fellowship came to a close, we gathered at the bottom of the building and our team split up to talk to people. I walked up on Joel, Marie’s husband talking to Candace and Kait and began to listen to him. He told us the story that totally rocked my world about his wife.

Before they lived in Vietnam, they had spent years in Africa. During their time in Africa, Marie spent time working with woman who were trapped in this vicious cycle of being sold. In one incident, Marie and her team were out walking the streets and they saw a man in the middle of the street pull out a gun and shoot the driver of a car. In that car was a woman who was with him. While the rest of the people in the streets ran away from this situation, Marie and her team ran full force into, they ran to the car to rescue the girl. While Marie was rescuing this girl, part of her team ran after the man with the gun and trapped him in a building till the authorities arrived. This was her life story in Africa. She ran to the hard places because she knew she had the best body guard, our Father.

I want to live like that.

So many times I seek comfort and steer away from the hard situations because I am afraid it will get to messy and I will loose myself in it. That is not what will happen because I have the big man on my side and He is always steering me in the right directions.

He gives us choices, we can follow Him even to the hard messy places or we can go the other way where it is easy and we are safe. Marie and her team had a decision that day they could follow Him to that car and be His light or they could turn the other cheek and act like they had never seen a thing.

                                                          They choose to follow Him.

I may never meet Marie again after this month, who knows. I do know she has completely wrecked how I thought I wanted to live and made me realize I want to follow Him even to the scary places and even where it is hard, because that is where I will find Him.
