Hey everyone!!! Guess what?!?! I found out my launch date!!! I have to be in
Ft Lauderdale, FL on January 10, 2012!!!
The entire D squad will meet there for a few days of training then we will head to our first stop: Guatemala! Finding out this date made things even more real and now the countdown is really on. My last day of work will be December 15 then on December 18th I will be driving down to Florida to spend Christmas and the last few weeks in the states visiting with my family and friends. That means I have now less than 5 weeks to go through everything I own, narrow down what I want to keep to fit into 4 or 5 boxes and sell the rest. I also have to pack for the 3 weeks I’ll be in Florida along with the 11 months on the race. Whew! Not gonna lie, I’m a little overwhelmed to say the least! Please be praying for me hardcore during this time. π
So along with the realization that I’m only in GA for another 5 weeks, I’ve also realized its time I share with you all my needs. I honestly hate asking for things, especially money so this def has been a post I’ve been putting off the past couple weeks. I fully understand that God will provide, but I have yet to see Him rain down the thousands on me while I sleep and I’m pretty confident that He will not provide in that way. When God calls, He provides but He provides through people. But how are you supposed to know what I need unless I tell you? π So here it goes…..
Let’s start with deadlines. They are as follows:

$11000 April 1, 2012
$15500 July 1, 2012 (fully funded)
Thus far I have raised $4114. Thank you all so incredibly much for your support!! It means so much to have you partner with me and I am forever grateful!
In less than 5 weeks I still need $2386 to reach deadline OR I DO NOT GO!
Also, even though I don’t need to be fully funded until July (end of month 6 on the field), I’m praying to be fully funded by launch – January 10, 2012 – $11,386 is still needed to reach that.

For those of you who would rather help with something specific rather than just donating money here are a few other things I need and a couple things I want:

— Wal-Mart Gift card – There is a lot of misc. things I need such as toiletries, journal, pens, small alarm clock, basic medications (headaches, colds, stomach issues, etc), t-shirts, flash drives, and other random stuff.

— Kindle or Nook
— Eno Hammock
— 11 month supply of Mountain Dew and Lucky Charms Hahaha jk….I can’t fit that in my pack! π
Again, PRAYER….lots of it!! Its getting to be a little stressful and I’m trying to stay focused and not get overwhelmed. Its pretty crazy thinking of all that needs to be done to “put your life on hold” for a year!
