Being raised in a Christian home I’ve always believed in God but in the past decade or so I’ve pretty much put him on the back burner. A few weeks ago I decided to get back into church…it was time to fully give myself to God. Sitting in church Sunday the pastor spoke about the Holy Spirit speaking to us. How we need to not question why he’s telling us to do something but without question, just go. That God knows what path we need to be on and he will direct us. I honestly laughed to myself saying that it would probably be awhile before the Holy Spirit spoke to me again since I was just now getting right with God.
Well, I was wrong! Two days later I was at work and a friend of mine (The amazing Shanona!) and I had been talking about my struggles feeling as though I don’t fit in with the younger party crowd or the ones around my age and older who are married with kids. I’m single, 27, and don’t fit. She invited me to church with her and told me there was a lot of people my age there and in the same boat as me. She also told me most of these people had been on a missions trip called the World Race…they traveled to 11 Countries in 11 months. She only briefly mentioned it but something stuck about this trip. I got home from work and googled it. As I read through their website, I got choked up and my heart starting pounding. GO! GO! GO! Is all I could hear. I closed my laptop, pushed it aside and fell asleep.
The next day all I could think about was The World Race. Just Go. So that night I took a step in faith and applied. Two weeks later I was accepted!! Ever since I first heard about the WR, I've developed an immense passion for this trip and serving God. My passion is growing on a daily basis and I'm so very excited to begin this journey!!!
