*during our most recent debrief, our squad mentor invited us into some time and space to write two Psalms. The first was to be a Psalm in reference to the past. The second was to be a Psalm in reference to the future. During our stay in Botswana, our team received the amazing opportunity of having a man with a disability stay with us. I had never had this form of encounter before and getting to walk through this opened my eyes to my own spiritual disabilities of which God has worked in miraculously. Below is my first Psalm:

My Psalm in Reflection to John 1:1&14

I cut my food slowly and chew softly.

I never spot the airplane in the sky, because I never catch the roar of its engine.

I am clumsy, disruptive, and do not answer your kind greetings.

I don’t know your voice, but my eyes are tuned to every gesture you make.

I am deaf; but you, you are patience and kindness.

You color the world with extravagant patterns and designs that play symphonies.

You manufacture flavors that sing quartets on my taste buds you created.

The aroma of your embrace speaks volumes.

All this, all that you are, and you still came down to open my ears to your word.

The second Psalm is a new implementation that God has been pressing on my heart. As I strive to be more like Christ, I am reminded of three major roles He walked through during his time on Earth. These three roles display a biblical maturity of which I am committing to strive for.

My Psalm in Respect to the Future

His ears are tuned to the frequency of the Holy Spirit.

He stands at the feet of the Lord when all others falter only to lift them up to the Lord.

He is the Great Prophet.

He stands blameless in a crooked and perverse generation.

He sits and dines with the least likely, they laugh together.

He is the Great Priest.

He is at the front line and leads every last man.

He is followed and admired for he walks blamelessly.

He is the Great King.

He is Prophet, Priest, and King.

He is Jesus Christ.

He has called me son and ordered my steps after His own.
