Arrived back in Mexico late Tuesday night, after an arduous 36 hour bus journey…which included about ten of the worst Spanish B films ever produced, plus one French for good measure. They did not want to let me across the Guatemala/Mexican border, because of my U.S. army backpack…so I asked if they were going to pay me for it and provide me with another bag for all belongings. After fencing with a Mexican solider for 25 minutes an officer came over and let me pass. I thanked him and blessed him and looked at the other solider with disdain and went on my way! Back at the gateway….where I don’t really care to be (I’d rather be racing)…I sat down and talked with the Director (Thomi). I have much more peace about being here. Spent the day, Thursday, at Padre Island …with the South African teams…had a blast. Have been given my first assignment here, spend three days praying, journaling and reading John Pipers ~ Hunger for God. Sorry I haven’t blogged…haven’t had any faithful subjects to write my every word and whim, will try to keep you posted on my every thought and movement! That’s enough for now dictating is very taxing….God Bless, Hugh!
