Ok, so my month here in Draganesti, Romania has been far from what I thought it was going to be.This is my first month on the race and it has set the tone for the next 10 months. Here are some of my thoughts so far before I tell you what we've been doing here for the month!

  1. I should have brought another shirt or two. I was going to buy another the other day but I'm still a while away from wearing an Affliction shirt.
  2. For some reason BB&T thinks that Romania is going to steal all of my money so for the first week I couldn't pull out any- that was annoying, but its all taken care of now. Stacks on stacks of Lei (3.4 lei = 1 USD)
  3. Coke and Sprite are more expensive than beer. Water is even more expensive than beer in most places I've seen.
  4. I wish I would have bought an ipod with tons of storage- my iPhone is doing fine, but I'm having to choose a few songs at a time to bring along so that I can take pics.
  5. I wish I would have sorted out a good editing program for my videos before coming here. I'm having to make videos on my iPhone and thats far from what I'd like to do.
  6. Romanian children are the cutest until they scream profanity at you in perfect English because thats the only word they know and then run up for a high-five.
  7. We have to walk to the store every day to pick up groceries- bringing 5 2-liter cokes in a backpack and lunch meat in bags on your arms back is more of a workout than I asked for.
  8. Our neighbor has threatened to call the police on us many times because we are so loud. Little does everyone know that its me about to call the police. Hammy gotta sleep.
  9. I've been living in my tent this whole month. Its been the best. Its the only alone time that I get. I crawl in and zip up the door and read my kindle for a while and can actually think for a while. I get wifi in my tent too- thats the bomb.com
  10. I should have brought sunscreen for my nose.
  11. I've never been without food and If I wanted more I just walk down to the store and buy a pizza. Thats been nice.

Our ministry has been with a man named Raul. I've forgotten his last name, but this guy rocks. He is the perfect man for the job. He's been given a vision for the people and knows how to delegate unlike many people I've met. Just meeting the man you can tell that God has used him for this and is continuing to do so every day. We do a lot of street evangelism. We go visit villages close by and pass out clothes and do kids clubs (VBS basically). We have Mondays off and get to do whatever we want- thats been nice too. My first Monday I went on a hiking trip with about 10 other people from my group and then went on the second tallest mountain in Romania taking one of the top 10 most dangerous roads in the world to the top of it (I hated that so so much) We ate meat that we bought from venders on the side of the road and met people in the mountains that let us eat under their tent while it was raining. All in all Romania has been amazing. On July 29th we will be taking a bus all day to The Black Sea for a full day there and then onto MOLDOVA! Not much info on what we'll be doing in Moldova yet- but as soon as we get that tacked down I'll let yall know! Sorry about not being as diligent with this blog as I would like to be- I'll try to change that! Love yall, miss yall- send me an email at [email protected] if you want! I love me some emails.
