Hey folks,
I’m Fredo.
I am from the Planet Earth and currently reside in Glendale, Arizona.
I’m a huge fan of the banjo.
One of my aspirations is to own a tiny house and travel the country. Oh, and I secretly am Tarzan’s son (shhh, don’t tell anyone).
A few months back, I made the decision to ditch what seemed like the opportunity of a lifetime; I abandoned a full tuition scholarship after a year of being in college. At the time, I was studying music and wasn’t really sure why I was in school except “they gave me some monies”. In retrospect it was to learn about how important community is and what God truly desires from us.
I’d say when you peel off the rind, the real fruit is in loving others, knowing Yahweh, and having integrity. I’m not always the most eloquent so I’ll allow someone else to do the talking for me:
“Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world” (James 1:26-27)
Anyways, I’m 20 years young. I find that the more and more years I get under my belt, the more wonder I have about the world. In High-school, I knew everything. (Insert reassuring laughter here)
With that said one of the few things I’ve realized I want most in my life is to not only be a good man, but to be someone with a desire to improve in my walks of faith and friendships daily. My prayer right now is to have the small drops of courage each day to make a difference in this world. Whether that be through giving a friend a hug, changing vocations, or taking a stand against injustices.
Ultimately, I want to be drop in the ocean towards restoring this world. Thus far, that means loving people, taking care of those who can’t do much for themselves, and being brave enough to accept and create change.
The World Race will be the next adventure in my life and I’m stoked to let it aid me in becoming who I’m meant to be. My hope is that this opportunity will allow me to see the hearts and desires of people so that I can know what tools (both spiritually and vocationally) will be most effective to me bringing God’s Kingdom on earth.
Much Love,
Fredo
