I am sick this week. Head aching, neck hurting, throat scratchy, S-I-C-K, SICK. I come home, I lay in bed, I watch t.v on my computer, and, the kicker, I don’t want to spend time with anyone, anyone, including God.

It gets pretty scaring in my mind when I don’t spend time with God. Not praying and not bible reading leaves a lot of room for tv shows that have questionable story lines and involve things that my very sensitive mind begins to think are ok for me to do.  I guess the big problem here is my obligation to the Lord is sad.

God is God even when I am sick.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-19 says “ Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” It doesn’t give an out for the sick or the pained or even the sad. The moment we forget to do what this passage is says is the moment the enemy starts hitting us in the back.

So, what do I plan to do to get on track and continue in dedication to meet daily with the Lord?

  1. Repeat “God is Good all the Time and all the time God is good” 5 times after every time I think it would be to hard to meet with him that day.
  2. Read 1 Thessalonians 5:16-19
  3. Start at step one: rejoice ALWAYS.
  4. PRAY!!!! Give him thanks.
  5. Let his spirit comfort my sickness and lead me to know his Goodness even more

How do you plan on keeping dedicated the next time you feel like doing ANYTHING else? What has worked for you in the past? I am sure there will be lots of sick days to power though on the race and this is just one of the many ways I could use everyone’s help.
