Over the past several months since living in Gainesville, GA and working at Adventures in Missions, I have had the privilege of serving in the World Race department as an assistant squad coordinator. Basically what that means is that I did a lot of logistics work for a couple of the squads who are currently out on the field. I had the blessing of contacting ministry contacts and getting things in order to have teams/squads sent to their locations to serve for the month. I also helped for some financial things for the squads and a few other odds and ends.

It was an eye-opening experience being on this side of all the details. A lot of that stuff that happens, I had no idea about while being out on the field as a participant. My, my, my, how the tables have turned! I didn’t realize all the work that went into making the World Race tick.

As of Monday, we began a new semester here in the CGA (Center for Global Action) program that I am part of at Adventures…

We arrived at work as normal for a Monday. We ate breakfast together, had some time of worship, and then the “reaping” took place… Well, kinda… It wasn’t really the reaping. I just wanted to use that term cause that’s what it felt like in a lot of ways. You’ll only understand that if you’ve seen the “Hunger Games.”

It was time for the draft!

Basically what that meant was all the new CGA students, and some of us who returned for the second semester, were getting our placements in the office for the new semester.

As they began to call out the placements for the World Race department, I got nervous, REALLY nervous!

“Returnees for the World Race department are…” Bill announced! “Olivia, Laura, and last but not least… Jill!” Hmmm… That could only mean 2 things… I’m fired and don’t know it yet or I just got moved!

Thank the Lord, it was the later of the two… That’s right, folks, I am no longer in the World Race department… I have officially been moved to “CHURCH2CHURCH!” Yeehaw!

Now, I know what you’re all thinking… “What exactly is CHURCH2CHURCH?”

     Let me explain…

CHURCH2CHURCH is a department at Adventures in Missions that is in place to facilitate and bring together stateside churches with international churches to create long-term relationships between the two.

The heart of CHURCH2CHURCH is to get churches here in the states, to get involved with the international churches to help empower them and spur them onto good works and help extend their ministries in numerous aspects. With a three-year commitment, they will have the opportunity to serve alongside these churches, and then eventually help them become self-sustaining before pulling out.

This is such a blessing and really something close to my heart. I am thrilled to be able to serve in CHURCH2CHURCH and see what the Lord has planned. Not to mention, I get to serve beside some legit men of God (Bruce Dawson, Colby Gardner, & Joe Rogers).

If you’re interested in becoming part of a CHURCH2CHURCH partnership, please contact me for more information! Again, I’m excited about this new season, and I pray that you’ll stand beside me as we advance The Kingdom.

(Myself & Mark Rowdon who is also in C2C & CGA)

     Love yall.
