*If you didn’t read “Ordained By God”, check it out first…

So there we set, talking with, Betsy. She had began to share with us the frustrations and heart break that she’d been experiencing ever since arriving in Nicaragua. What was suppose to be a teaching position for a youth Bible class at a Christian school, actually turned out to be a job teaching high school English. She had seen very little fruit and felt like she wasn’t spreading the Gospel and doing His will. You could just hear the disappointment in her voice.

After laying out all her feelings, I spoke, and then Colby began to speak some words of encouragement over her.

We as believers have forgotten that we were never created by God to be “HUMAN-DOINGS”, but rather, “HUMAN BEINGS.” We’ve been programmed to think that there is some sort of formula to sharing the Gospel or “doing the will of God.” Truth is, there’s no formula at all.

If we are believers and followers of Christ, we actually have the Spirit of God dwelling in us. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in us!

So you know why God made us “beings” instead of “doings?” Because this means that we’re doing the “will of God”, simply by “being.” That’s right. You are THE WILL OF GOD. You have the Spirit of God living and dwelling inside of you, therefore no matter what you’re doing, where you’re going, etc., you are being the will of God and bringing THE KINGDOM to everywhere that you step foot. You are the catalyst for the Gospel!

So many Christians today (including me) become obsessed with finding “Gods will” for our lives. To the point that we completely miss out on the very thing He’s already asked us to do, and that is to be His hands and His feet. It isn’t some hidden message or puzzle we’ve gotta try and solve. “Go out into all the world and make disciples.” It’s that simple. Why do we make it so hard?

“The will of God is neither a location or a vocation, but a single-minded dedication to do and be the will of God wherever.” -Larry Wolters

If you’re in Christ, you’ve already got the answer. Just bring The Kingdom and be the will of God in everything you do. Whether that’s teaching, preaching, talking to somebody in a diner, or helping an elderly man across the street and giving him some food.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
-Acts 1:8 (esv)

In Romania we listened to a sermon series by Louie Giglio. The message was called “Carry The Name.” In the message he talked about the story in Acts where Saul meets Jesus.

Saul was a terrible man who was well known for killing and torturing any and all believers he could get his hands on. Until the day he came face to face with Jesus on the road to Damascus…

Saul literally meets Jesus on the road that day, and Jesus confronts him. Immediately Saul is blinded by the incredibly bright light that surrounds him because the presence of the Lord. The Lord gives Saul instructions, and men assist him to the location since he’s blind. Right then and there, he follows Jesus.

Later, there is a man by the name of Ananias. The Lord comes to him in a vision and tells him to go seek out this man named, Saul. He’s hesitant at first, but then goes to find him. He arrives, lays his hands on Saul and prays. Immediately the blindness leaves Saul’s eyes and he gets baptized. Only a matter of days later, Saul begins proclaiming Jesus in the synagogues! Neither of them wasted any time.

All you’ve been asked to do is “just be” and carry His name. That’s it.

“Your Kingdom Come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven…” –Matthew 6:10 (esv)

     Love y’all.
