Its funny how after being on the field for 5 months, you no longer look at life in days or weeks anymore, but seems like everything works on a one month system. I’m interested in seeing how that will effect us when we get home. I have to keep reminding myself to continue to take it a day at a time, but sometimes that difficult because for the most part we think month to month.
If I was trying to rate my countries from most favorite to least favorite, it would be a hard call for first place. I would have to say its a tie between China and Swaziland. Those were originally the 2 countries I was most excited about and looking forward too on this journey. If I am being honest, those two countries had a huge influence on my choosing this route. The Lord really put them on my heart, so looking back on those two months, I could not be more pleased with how the turned out! We were told at training camp to not have expectations for the World Race, but that’s easier said than done a lot of times. I am so thankful for the opportunity to have served in both of them for a month. It forever changed my life.
Anyways… originally we were scheduled to spend 3 months in Eastern Europe in this order: Bulgaria, Eastern Europe ATL , and Serbia. I know some of y’all are asking, “what is Eastern Europe ATL?” Eastern Europe ATL is a month that your team prays and ask the Lord to show you which country He wants you to serve in for the month. It could be a hand full of different options, as long as it’s in Eastern Europe. As of a couple of weeks ago, our route changed a little bit. On the World Race its perfectly normal for there to be route changes. Its just the nature of it all. So many people, so many different countries, so much changing in the world, its bound to happen…
So instead of heading to Bulgaria next, we will be heading to Romania. I am actually really excited about it! The majority of squads at some point end up going to Romania if they go to Eastern Europe. So I am excited about the opportunity to be able to serve there! One of our team leaders, Kristen, spoke to her ministry contact in Romania a couple days ago, and he said that there was 4 feet of snow in some areas of Romania right now… So this could be an interesting month, Haha! Looks like we will be heading to some thrift stores when we get there and find some warm clothes! I hope they have Goodwill!
In Romania our team will be working with one other team from our squad and we will be serving in the Northwestern part of Romania in a city called Arad. I will let y’all know more about the ministry once we arrive there and get settled in!
Thank you so much for your continued prayers and support as I take this journey. I absolutely could not do this without each of you standing beside me and praying me forward. Continue to pray for our team, squad, and those we minister too.
