… I appreciate y’all taking the time to keep coming back and checking out my blogs. I hope that it ministers to you and allows you a glimpse into what God can do when we take Him out of “His box” that we sometimes like to put Him into… He is good. So very very good. He loves us. Yes, us! You & me! The God of the universe loves us and celebrates us! He calls us His sons & daughters, partakers in His kingdom, chosen, renewed, redeemed, saved, forgiven! We have been bought and paid for with a price! Isn’t it incredible to know that His grace is sufficient for us…? Ponder that thought. Allow that to sink in. Let it change your life, because… It will do just that if we allow it too.

I want to tell you about a friend of mine. His name is Chung Nan. He is 6 years old, weighs about 18 lbs, and he is in a government orphanage. Chung Nan used to be one of the many children who lived at Eagles Wings, but due to a series of events, he had to be moved back to the orphanage. He has sevier CP, he cannot swallow anything, he cannot sit up by himself, he cannot do anything for himself. He lays in bed all day, which consist of a baby crib.

One day during one of our meetings, the questions was asked if there would be 1 or 2 people who would be interested in going to the orphanage everyday for 1 hour and working with a little boy named Chung Nan. We were told that if you did not feel the Holy Spirit leading you to go, do not go. This would be a very big undertaking and would require a lot. Emotionally, physically, and spiritually. I knew as soon as it was mentioned, that God was tugging on my heart and telling me to go. I waited till after our meeting to say yes or no. Jenn committed to going, and I also committed to working with Chung Nan for the month. Later that afternoon, we caught a taxi and made our way to the orphanage. As we got out of the car and began walking up to this large 10 story building, I remember thinking, “I have no idea what I am getting into, but I know that You God, You are in control”. I prayed that prayer and was overcome with a immense peace.

As we got onto the elevator, I continued to pray. I asked God to bless our time and minister to this little boy. We arrived at the 3rd floor, stepped off the elevator and was met by a very long hallway with many windows and doors. The first room we came too was Chung Nan’s room. There he lay in a room with about 12 other children that nobody even knew existed. You see, since Chinese people want nothing to do with children who have special needs, some people don’t even realize they exist. This is something that they try to keep “hush hush” about. Anytime you take a child out and about who has special needs, people point and look at them like they are not even human. Its heartbreaking, but true. So we finally meet Chung Nan for the first time, and immediately the biggest smile comes across his face. They put his diaper on and cloth him so that we can take him into a play room for a little bit.

For the next hour, Jenn and I tried our hardest to get him to move, to bend his legs and arms, to just be able to relax and be a child. We help him roll a ball. Push a toy car. Instantly my heart was taken. This little boy knows how to love at age 6 more than most people will ever know. Funny thing is, he doesn’t have to say a word. He really did teach me what having a “child like faith” looks like. So this was my ministry for the month. To show this little boy that somebody loves him. To make him feel like he matters. If only for 1 hour a day. He is so important and there is a God who is crazy about him. Maybe one day, I will be able to tell him thank you. “Thank you, Chung Nan, for ministering to me. I am forever grateful that God used you to help change my life”.
