I have to admit, going into training camp for The World Race, I was VERY apprehensive about somethings and some people. There were some nights I was literally thinking, “WHAT IN THE WORLD AM I DOING HERE?!” Growing up, other than people getting healed from cancer, sickness, etc. I had never really seen people healed. When I say “healed” I mean, lame people walking, deaf people hearing, mute people speaking, and blind people seeing. To be honest, I personally don’t know if I could say, I believed for sure Jesus still worked “visible miracles” like the ones I just mentioned. You don’t hear about that kinda stuff in the USA. Overseas it is a lot more common, but in small town America, not so much. I am not sure what the reason is either. I would say for me, it was probably the fact that I didn’t really believe Jesus still healed like He did in the Bible. I hope that when I say all that, it is not received as me being negative. I am just trying to be as transparent as possible. Keep trekking with me…

The days leading up to me departing for The World Race were kinda hectic. So much to do, so much to see, so many people to link up with before I went missing for 11 months. One of the problems I kept having was the doctors office kept messing up on my asthma prescription. Ever-since I was in middle school, I have taken asthma medicine everyday. Somedays it bothers me so bad that I need a rescue inhalor. Also, most of you know this, but in high school, I fractured my spine and was put on back pain medicine, twice a day, everyday. This medicine is very strong, because breaking your spine is not the most comfortable thing that somebody can do to themselves. (HAHA, You can laugh at that. Its meant to be funny 🙂 )

So, long story short, I left for The World Race without either of those medicines. I never could get my asthma prescription because the paperwork got messed up 3 times, and I wasn’t able to get my back meds either. If I am just being honest, I worried. A LOT. I was able to get my rescue inhalers, but as I left Franklin to head out on The World Race, I remember thinking, “this is not good. I am leaving the country, for 11 months, without my medicine. The Lord is going to have to really provide for me right now. “

(getting dropped off at World Race Launch in GA)

Fast forward a few days. We were 4 days into The World Race Launch and Michael Hinds is preaching the sermon that evening. After he finishes preaching a very intense message, he says, “somebody in this room is struggling with rheumatoid arthritis, and needs to have prayer.” Sure enough, one of our girls, has a really bad case of RA. She rose to her feet. Then Michael asked for others who were having pains or problems to stand up for prayer. I hesitated for a few moments and thought to myself, “Jesus cannot possible heal my back.” Never the less, I stood to my feet along with about 20 others. Then he asked the others in the room to surround us for prayer. A couple of my teammates put their hands on me, and Matt asked me, “what do you need healing from?” I replied, “my back.” I remember thinking, “I just screwed up and am getting my hopes up. I should not have stood up.” We finished praying and that was that.

Fast forward again. Its September 30th. Launch was 24 days ago. To this day…

MY BACK AND ASTHMA NEITHER ONE HAVE BOTHERED ME THE FIRST TIME! God is awesome, and Jesus still heals! I am walking, living, breathing proof of it! Praise God!

So the next time you think, “Jesus cannot do this or that.” Think again! Jesus still works miracles. There is still healing in His hands 🙂
