This past week I arrived in Gainesville, GA to begin my 4 months of missions training in preparation for a launch to South Asia as a long term Church planter.   Being back in the “World Race” community has been nothing short of amazing!

After a couple days of settling in, seeking out some churches and making some sweet “house” memories with the people we are living with we set out for a 4 day adventure in the woods.

12 miles.  4 days. 3 nights with 6 people from all over the world.  Needless to say, it was a crazy week.  We started off by hiking 6 miles the first day and ending the night exhausted.  The second day we did another 6 miles then played cards, gazed at the stars and shared stories from our World Race experiences which brought so much joy and laughter.

My favorite day however, and the most difficult, was the third day.  This day was called the “silent day”  as we were told to spend 24 hours SOLELY with the Lord.  We couldn’t talk to each other at all, we couldn’t eat with each other, or even move out of a 20 by 20 ft area we had been assigned to stay within.   First, I was terrified to hear this was our newest “task”.  As an extreme extrovert, I love love love talking to other people and to not have that option to turn to another person that would laugh at my joke or tell me a story was crazy….but let me tell you….it was so NEEDED for my soul.

I had forgotten that LISTENING to God is just as important as TALKING to God.  This relationship goes two ways!!  In this time we had together with no distractions, God reminded me of who he has made me to be.  He gave me scripture that encouraged me to know that he would use me in America in this season and continue to use me as we venture together to South Asia and even if I could never talk to another human being ever again…HE. WOULD. BE. ENOUGH.

He would restore my soul

He would comfort me when I feel lost

He would be my strength

Thank you daddy for ALWAYS being enough.
