Life Learned:

  1. Two months in and I still don’t like skirts. (Some things will never change).
  2. Community is still hard. But well worth it.
  3. Grilled cheese and fried egg sandwiches rock.
  4. I finally saw a domestic cat in Africa… 2 actually J
  5. Spiritual Warfare is a very real thing
  6. I may not like it but I can and am able to public speak. (For example read previous blog on serving time in Malawi Prison).
  7. I’ll never complain about the smell of the states again.
  8. Seeing a bunch of little kids say they want Jesus to be their best friend is awesome.
  9. A trip to the local market is an adventure in of itself.
  10. God is there all the time, even if we don’t realize it all the time.
  11. I can lean a youth group discussion on how we run our youth group in Oregon. It was fun talking to them about how we run things at Rooted.
  12. I did yoga!
  13. I prayed healing over someone for the first time…. well actually probably not the first time ever but the first time on the race.
  14. Witnessed two Muslims (now former Muslims) accept Christ on two separate occasions.
  15. You’re allowed to talk about God in schools here.
  16. I saw Zebras and Hippos in their natural habitat. We went on an African Safari.
  17. They like to play chicken with their cars when they drive. I don’t know what I’m gonna do when I get back in the states and people aren’t honking just to let you know they’re there and wanting to pass.
  18. Rode on the back of a Malawian Bicycle. One mode of transportation here.
  19. In every country there is a Chico, in Malawi his name was Owen. (Ask me to explain when I get back to the states).
  20. “Open Van” = Back of A Truck
  21. When it Rains we dance. It poured for about 45minutes on the 23rd, and we went out and danced and just played in the rain. We also for the first time in two months felt “cold” for about 45 minutes. It was great.
