The night started out like any other night at church. Youth kids were trickling in with excitement stamped on their foreheads – the grins on their faces giving them away. Boys and girls mingling and greeting one another with great enthusiasm. It was kick-off night!

Firehouse Youth Group was starting up again for the new year!
Many new faces entered the building – curiosity filling their eyes and a deep hunger for more stealing their hearts.
The night began with the usual games and ice-breakers. And what’s more normal than setting off a firework in the church parking lot?! I vote nothing.
After the jumping and screaming from the celebrating died down, the youth gathered back inside for a time of worship. It started out a little hesitant and self-conscious, but as it went further into the set, Christ began to move. The whole room began to sway a little differently – the Holy Spirit was making his presence known in the hearts of his children little by little.
The sight of many youth-goers freely worshipping their Creator had captured the void within them – filling it with His Presence.
A beautiful sight.
And then it was like the floodgates had burst open – youth were dancing, speaking life into each other, spontaneously worshipping, sharing visions and words with the audience, praying over one another and laughing with joy! Kids we’re be set free from their personal prisons left and right – incredible!
No longer were they concerned with how they looked or sounded while worshipping our Father…their hearts had been newly opened and God was filling each of them till they overflowed into one another.
This youth group was on FIRE!
Seriously, it was like watching a small flame turn into a blazing wildfire – no one had a chance of escaping it. Once the fire was alive, nothing could put it out….and it blazed all night long in the souls of these youth members.
Hearts were changed
Lives were transformed
Truth took root in their hearts
A revolution has begun
Wildly burning with reckless abandonment for our God.

 A powerful experience.

And personally I always want to be caught in a wildfire – always.
