As I told you in my last post, the Lord placed a dream in my heart during my World Race trip, to call young adults into their identity in Christ. And I believe the Lord has shown me how I am to live out this dream in the immediate future (January), and that is squad leading!!
What is squad leading you may ask? Well! I, along with two others, will be going out onto the mission field leading a group of first-time world racers for their first five months of the Race, as well as their month 8 & 11 debriefs. We are there to help and guide them on this amazing journey and point them closer to Jesus Christ. There is a lot more to the position, but that’s what I’m most looking forward to. Getting to know these beautiful people and just doing life with them. Helping them walk more into who God created them to be!
The squad I am leading is O-squad!! I’ve only spent a week with them during their training camp and they are seriously the best!! I already feel like a proud Mom. 🙂 We launch early January. I have to report for training in Atlanta on January 2! The five countries I will be accompanying O-squad for are: Dominican Republic, Haiti, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Guatemala! I’m super pumped!!
I pray that I can make as profound of an impact on O-squad as my squad leaders did for my original squad (W)! They were irreplaceable. They encouraged me in the gifts I knew the Lord had given me, as well as pointed out gifts I never knew I had, and also lovingly pointed out areas in my life that needed to look more like Christ. I learned so much from them and am so thankful to God for placing them in my life!
It still baffles me that this is where the Lord has taken my life, but I give Him so much thanks! There is nothing else I would rather be pursuing! Although, sometimes I still get nervous about what I’m going to be doing. But I know the Lord goes before me in everything I do, walks beside me to give me comfort, and He has placed everything I need inside me to lead O-squad well! I just need to walk in that confidence!
Can’t wait!! Let’s do this thing!
