The Swahili language still echoes in my ear, as I try to resite all the sentences Selestine, my translator, taught me. Every day he gave me 5 sentences to learn and at the end of my second week I could make conversation.
The green banana plantations fill the valleys and the soil of Tanzania is very fruitful. Every body grows fruit trees and you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables on every street corner. We also enjoyed the green banana stew the woman prepared for us, the taste very similar to potato. Never have met a nation so friendly and joyful! They are proud to be Africans and love living from the earth the way God created it. This nation is looking for the truth and like children they believe and seek God earnestly. Many people gave their lives to Jesus and we took every opportunity to teach from God’s word; had Bible studies every day. Very often the children came to the church, they wanted to hang out with the “Mzungo’s”(White man). Many people brought the sick and slain and God was faithful, he healed them and set them free.
1 Peter 3:15
…Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.
I had a very full schedule and every day I had lunch with a different family, this gave me the opportunity to share the good news and pray for families. I had an amazing experience in Tanzania and made so many friends. This is the greatest gift God has give us, to share the Gospel with people. I left Tanzania knowing that people leave our lives and we cry but God never leaves us and with God we are never alone.
