While Chrislyn and I have both had a fair amount of experience in missions and travel abroad, I think we’re both sensing that our experience this coming year will be anything but familiar or predictable. Foreign missions as a married couple will be a new experience for sure. We expect that living “on the road” for 11 months will bring its share of challenges and opportunities for growth in our marriage. That said, we anticipate much joy and reward in following God’s calling and taking on new challenges as we venture into unfamiliar territory (both literally and figuratively speaking). We are especially excited about being a part of a team and learning to disciple and preach the Gospel to each other as we encounter all of these new experiences and share the victories and the struggles that will certainly come in the work that God calls us to.
