Hey all!
It’s month three already and Mighty Love is in Nicaragua! 🙂

This month our team is doing a program called Unsung Heroes. Rather than working with one contact for the month, our team is traveling around the country in search of new contacts for future World Race teams!
We started in Grenada in the beginning of the month and asked the Lord where He wanted us to go. After praying we felt like we should start in Managua and we researched ministries and places to stay, connecting with several that we planned to visit.
The only problem was a day before we were supposed to go, we still didn't know where we would spend the night. Every hostel we researched was around $10, but we only had $5 per person per night in the budget. So we sat down and prayed again, asking the Lord for the things that were on the borderline of “impossible” in our minds.
My prayer was for free housing and a pool. (haha, why not?)
Other prayers included:
~ Lifelong friends
~ Cultural experiences
~ and Andie asked the Lord to see her Youth Group who was on a mission trip in Managua at the same time.
All of the above happened.
It was incredible.
Later that night, Team Agape said we could crash on their contacts floor for the first night: and they had a pool! Then we met a missionary couple who connected us with their friend who called his friend in Managua. His friend just happened to be the pastor of a church there, and he wanted to help us.
Pastor Frederico and his friend Jose then picked us up from Agape’s ministry, gave us lunch and informed us that we would be staying with a family from the church. When we asked how much it would cost he told us it would be free. You better believe our mouths were hanging open by that point hahah.
He and his family basically adopted us. They provided us with every meal: home cooked recipes from Nicaragua (check two on the answered prayers!), and did not ask for anything for repayment. They invited us into their church community, and helped drive us around the city and to the other ministries we were visiting. We even went to the beach together hahaha. I can’t express with words the way that they loved us, it was one of the most tangible expressions of God’s love I have ever experienced outside of my own family.
The pastors family and other families we met had incredible joy and despite the language barrier, we spent hours together laughing and having a blast. Two days ago they dropped us off in our next location here in Jinotepe and I cried. It was amazing how total strangers could become family so quickly.
It also amazed me the accuracy of God’s love through answered prayer. He is the God of the impossible and He is the giver of good gifts. Sometimes I hesitate to ask Him for things for a multitude of reasons, but the more I ask Him in faith, the more I am amazed by the way He responds and moves mountains.
We’re now visiting a ministry called Arms of Love and we are loving it! We traded cats wailing in the night and car horns in the city for birds chirping and breezy nights with rocking chairs in the hills of Nicaragua. I love my life! Next stop is Rivas later in the week!
God Bless!!!
