“Found
among his papers in Zimbabwe after he was martyred”
I’m a part of the fellowship of the unashamed. The die has
been cast. I have stepped over the line. The decision has been made. I’m a
disciple of His … and I will NOT look back, let up, slow down, back away, or be
still.
My past is redeemed. My present makes sense. My future is
secure. I am done and finished with low living, sight walking, small planning,
smooth knees, colorless dreams, tamed visions, mundane talking, cheap living,
and dwarfed goals.
I NO longer need preeminence, prosperity, position, promotions,
plaudits, or popularity. I do NOT have to be rewarded. I live by faith, lean on
His presence, walk by patience, lift by prayer, and labor by the power of the
Holy Spirit.
My face is set. My gait is fast. My goal is heaven. My road
may be narrow, my way rough, my companions few, but my Guide is reliable and my
mission is clear.
I will NOT be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away,
turned back, deluded or delayed.
I will NOT flinch in the face of sacrifice or hesitate in the
presence of the adversary. I will NOT negotiate at the table of the enemy,
ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity.
I will NOT give up, shut up, or let up until I have stayed
up, stored up, prayed up, paid up and preached for the cause of Christ!
I am a disciple of Jesus. I must give until I drop, preach
until all know, and work until He comes. And when He does come for His own, He’ll
have no problems recognizing. My colors will be clear!
This
is our prayer for His guidance in our life.
Deo Gloria
We live, we laugh, and we love. We fail, we succeed, and we
become frustrated when the answer is not there. We are confused, we are
blessed, and we are never on top of things. But most of all … we are dead.
We are dead to this world. We are sorry but we cannot live
for this world anymore. We are now alive fully in Christ. We are Chad and
Leslie Jowers.
When we saw the confirmation e-mail that we were accepted
to the World Race we became overly ecstatic. We had no clue if this was right
for us but here we are.
We live in Wellford, SC at this time. Leslie was born in
Texas and has lived in many other states before arriving to good ol’ SC. Chad
was born and raised a South Carolinian but somehow dropped his country accent
along the way. We met in Travelers Rest, SC at a small Southern Baptist church
that we were helping out with. It was not love at first sight but more of a
friendship and fellowship that grew into a love for our Christ together.
Leslie attended Furman University and received a Bachelor
of Arts degree in Music with the intent to teach one day. For now, Leslie is working
for a company called Massage Envy with the front office work, and she loves it.
Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Studies and minor in English with the
intent to teach or work in a church plant position one day. For now, Chad is
working as a Personal Injury Legal Adjuster at a law firm in Greenville and
Spartanburg, SC in which he hates to escape.

We have a daughter (a beautiful green-eyed chocolate lab)
that definitely has a personality. This picture is her when she was brought home at 7 weeks. She’s grown a ton since then. She focuses on herself and what she wants
but how could we not love her? She keeps us sane many many times due to life’s
troubles and we hate to leave her behind with Chad’s parents. She will be
greatly missed.
We have a home that we are currently trying to sell due to
the Race unless someone wants to shell out a ton-o-money for us to keep it;
however, it is time to move on so we know if it is meant then we will leave it.
We have been blessed all of our lives. We have received so
much in life that we want to be broken of all that we are and all that we have.
All we need is each other and our Christ, our Lord. That is all that we want
nowadays.
to more than just the World Race. The World Race is just the beginning and just
the catalyst to what is to come for our life. We know that God wants to use us
with many others (especially our co-Racers) to break and rock this world of all
He has to offer. So … let’s race!
