At our last Debrief, our squad leader Erika encouraged us to write two psalms, giving us seven minutes to write each psalm. A psalm could be a song, a poem, a heart cry, or a praise. The Lord has put it on my heart to write one psalm every day, giving myself 7 minutes. 7 minutes completely devoted to the Lord and listening to what He is putting on my heart. So I’m going to be bold and share my psalms through my blog. I will post one week at a time. I have committed to writing one psalm a day for all of Thailand, but I might continue after this month. Here’s the first installment.

3/31/17-

Jesus, you are my safety.

  You protect your children,

Whom you love so much.

You cover me as a mother hen

Covers her chicks.

  You are my shelter,

I run to you in the storm.

Even when I don’t sleep,

  Even when I’m emotionally drained

Even when I’m physically weak,

  You are still God.

You are still good.

  You are still truth.

You are my strength.

Jesus, be my rock.

As we go into a new season,

Let my eyes stay on you,

Let my ears hear only you,

Let my heart be full with you.

4/1/17-

Jesus, I see your precious ones.

I look into their face and see you.

I see your joy.

  I see your kindness.

I see your pain.

  I see your love.

Send your protection over each of your daughters.

  over each of your daughters,

As they dance for you,

  Sing for you,

And play with eachother.

Jesus, be their light,

In the darkness of their world.

Show them their worth

  And the love they deserve.

Thank you for each of your precious daughters.

4/2/17

Abba, your soverign hand is all around.

We look at the mountians and think,

“My God made that.”

We look at the desert and know

You are there.

  We look to the ocean,

And stand in awe of your creativity

The trees bow down to you in your breath.

The mountains move at your command.

The sky is your canvas,

Where you paint sunsets and sunrises.

You are in everything,

  And you are everywhere.

Even when we cannot see you,

We can look at your creation

and know who you are.

4/3/17

Papa, you are love.

  You love no matter what.

Your face shines light

In the darkness of this world,

And we can’t do anything

But stand in awe of you.

My heart hurts, Father,

  For the pain and suffering

And injustice in this world.

  For the abused, the persecuted,

And those who can’t escape.

For the broken, the lost and the unseen.

But you, oh God, you see each heart.

You seek out those who are lost

And those who aren’t seen.

  You comfort those in pain,

And sit with those who feel alone.

Thank you Papa for finding us.

  Thank you for loving us.

Thank you for healing us.

  Papa, you are love.

You are the light in this world.

4/4/17

Your love is never failing.

It doesn’t bend in the wind,

When the storm comes, it stands strong.

The waves cannot wipe it away,

Your love is strong, it endures.

The love of this world is not the same.

  We are fickle.

We change our minds.

  We are quick to talk,

And slow to listen.

Jesus, remind us of your love.

Let us see through the lens of your love.

Let us see others as you do,

  Let us love without limits.

4/5/17

Jesus, you hear us

Even when we do not speak.

You know our hearts,

  And you hear our cry.

Thank you for being our comforter,

  And our healer.

4/6/17

You are the rising sun.

In the morning you rise to be with us,

Your light shines everywhere.

  Even in the shadows,

We cannot escape you.

Your warm rays give us life,

And your light guides us forward,

On the path you have set for us.

All day long, we depend on you.

In the evening the sun sets.

Its not really gone, but you are not in sight.

You watch from afar,

And we watch in awe of the colors

That you paint in the sky.

Papa, you are the setting sun.
