An amazing opportunity has apporached me this week at Sarah's Covenant Homes. First an update on what my team has been working on:
My team leader, Alyssa is amazing. We had originally planned on working 8-6 everyday at SCH, 10 hours. However, this is our first month of our race. Though we are strong and eager, we also need to pace ourselves for the upcoming next 10 months. She kindly asked our ministry host if we could drop from 10 hours to 8 per day. Our host was more than happy to let us do this. We are able to create our own schedule with SCH to help serve them and us better.
Along side with this, our ministry host also offered two office positions to the team. They recently moved offices and need help organizing, filing, and miscellanious things. First hearing this I was not intrigued, as I love to work with the children so much. The next time it was mentioned my thoughts of my future and passions for social work came into my head. Being able to work in the SCH office will allow to me to see not only the individual children, but also be able to see the real social work aspect of the home. How an orphanage in an illegal adoption state can operate. I am so excited for this oppertunity! This also gives me a more sense of purpose from God in India. He is opening doors for me already to learn what I have a heart for. I will be working the mornings in the office and the afternoons at the home, meeting my team for lunch in between 🙂
I see such a love for each child in this home from my team already. I can not wait to see what the next few weeks in India.
