It's hot when you sleep, it's hot when you walk, it's hot when you shower, it's hot when you talk. The bus ride (with no AC) was hot, the rice is hot, my clothes become easily drenched, and I am constantly wiping the sweat from my brow. But what else is hot? My soul is on FIRE for what Christ is going to do this month in India.

Brief India Culture: There apparently are no driving laws, road rage doesn't even begin to explain the craziness of disobedient drivers. Cows roam freely, since they are deemed "holy" by the Hindu culture. Therefore: no beef. Women are covered: shoulders and knees are considered scandalous. Sari's are most common. Men wear long pants or skirts (large piece of material). It is not uncommon to be approached by children begging. It is hard and sad to say no, but most times they are put up to it by their "pimp" to make money. Taking shoes off when entering a room is traditional.

We are working with Sarah's Convenant Homes. A home for disabled children (mentally and phyisclally). We will be guiding the iyah's (nanny or grandma) for proper and common sense care that might get skipped over in the Indian culture when raising children. We will be giving each room a thourough cleanse along with going through old and new clothes for the children. We will also be giving these children the tender love and care that they have missed in their early years of life. All of the kids are officially orphaned that stay in the homes by the state; meaning they have no family that is present.

My team is EXTREMLY excited for this month of ministry! We are starting off strong (although the heat is detrimental). We are so blessed with great housing arrangements; couches and fans, what could be better? We also get to spend this month working with one other team on our squad. Hopefully to foster new and great relationships. We will be praying continually for the children in SCH while in the home and outside of work. My team believes this will be a big month for God to show up. Keeps us in your prayers for safety, health, and that God will do his work through us.
