I am spending my days on one of the most beautiful beaches in Thailand. It’s a little secluded, very peaceful and quiet. We pitched some tents right on the sand. The clouds rolled in and I fell asleep to the sound of a tropical storm – lightning and thunder shook the ground and lit up the sky with the crashing surf at our feet. As the tent warmed up I woke up to the most beautiful day – birds singing, dogs sleeping, white sand, blue ocean, green island and blue sky with scattered puffy white clouds.
As I get caught up in vacation paradise three plaques catch my eye. On some rocks next to the beach are the names of four people who lost their lives… a woman whose love is missing her so, a married couple gone forever, and a woman who was working here to help the animals she loved. There is not a better place to live as well as die than here in Ya Nui beach, Phuket, Thailand.

As I enjoy my time here on the beach worshipping our wonderful creator I will also take the time to sit in silence, in memory of those who lost their lives, for those whos lives were spared but turned upside down, and to praise our Lord. We often forget that we don’t know when our days will end… but I know that I don’t need to worry. My life is in God’s hands. Even after death I will continue to do the same things as I am doing now – worshipping Christ. I pray that others will find this same peace that can only be found in Jesus Christ our savior.
