Ashley and I have been on the island of Crete for a few days now. Tauna was able to go home for the week, so we parted with her and our wonderful rental car in Athens on the 5th. the last few days have just been spent reading and relaxing. we’re staying at a hostel int he older part of town which suits us fine in this big city. the beaches ar ebeautiful and we are enjoying the sunshine. we’ve had a great time getting to know the people at the hostel and everyone is always shocked when we share what we’re doing – we’re just not your typical tourist.
we’ll spend another few days here before taking a night ferry back to Athens (we ended up sleeping under some stairs on our way to Crete – the thought of staying on deck was just to cold, no-one seemed to mind. so we just rolled out our sleeping mats and camped out under the stairs). we’ll spend two nights in Athens before heading ot Italy and then Croatia. (we’ll be spending lots of timeon the ocean – luckily the ‘ferries’ are cruise ships, making them much more enjoyable than teh ferries we take across the Puget Sound back home).
keep us in your prayers as we travel and prepare our hearts and minds for getting back together with our teams and starting afresh, we can’t wait!
