Yes, you read that right. Let me tell you how it happened…
Our team spent month 1 of our Race visiting different villages in India. It was such a growing opportunity to our team, and we still reminisce about it all the time. But month 1 was really our only time fully submerged in village culture so far.

Well, our host asked if we’d like to spend our last Sunday in Phnom Penh going to a village church about a hour and a half outside the city. We immediately jumped on the opportunity to revisit something we each loved so much.
Just before arriving in the village there was a waiting point for a ferry to take people across the river.
If you know Kimmy and I, even a little bit, you know we will pounce on any opportunity to play with/pet/be around/see a kitten, and that’s exactly what we did. I mean this little thing was just lounging around, trying to fit in a cat nap in the shade from the heat.
After 10 or so minutes of this kitten soaking up our love, I (somewhat) jokingly asked our host if he’d like to have a kitten running around his house. His nonchalant “yes” made me wonder if he understood the humor in what I was asking.
Yep. He understood completely.
Then he turned the humor around on me by asking the kitten’s owner if he could take her.
Of course she said yes…

So, not only did we get to experience a wonderful village church service again. We got to take turns holding a baby kitten during the service and on the way home. (The ferry was easily her least favorite part of the whole experience in case you were wondering.)
Our hearts and hands are so full as we’re able to spend the last 3 days in Phnom Penh living with Izzy! Somehow she makes the 110 degree weather seem slightly more bearable.
