“Ow!”
I yelped in pain as I realized I got my finger stuck on an item I was carrying to the moving truck. Then a strange thought crossed my mind, not only will this bruise, but in one week it’ll probably still be there, while I’m headed to India… and I’ll actually miss this moment. Weird moments like that have been flooding my mind as I pack up.
The strange part about “packing up,” is that I actually have been packing up someone else’s stuff this last month – my family’s.
Three days after Bryce and I left our tiny home on Main to move in with my parents, we found out we’re not the only ones making big life changes! My wonderful mother accepted her dream job, in Houston. 778.9 miles away. This last month we have been boxing, sorting, selling, Goodwilling and reflecting as we close several chapters of our lives.
For many racers, they are closing the chapter with their day to day life, but they are hopefully coming back to the same people. We are currently saying goodbye to being in Nashville as a family, our brother and sister in law (who live in South Africa) that are visiting us and plan to move to Houston while we are gone as well, and to both Bryce and I having both our families within 20 miles.
Some days we are leaping for joy that we all are pursuing what makes us happy and going where God has clearly called us all – and somedays we just wish it was all unreal.
Somedays we forget that we too are even leaving, and other days we are just ready to get out there and see the world.
In one week we will be driving to Atlanta to meet up with our World Race family as we prepare for our journey toward India. We simply feel overwhelmed by our donors, friend and families who have made this trip possible. It’s simply 100% Jesus working through each and every one of them, because we simply do not have the means to be where we are with our fundraising. It’s a miracle. Hands down.
We have received our placement in India, a few days ago, which has made this trip a reality… an attainable, upcoming actual event. It’s been so easy to say, “We have a month” or “We still have a couple weeks,” but now we can say it’s one week away and we know exactly where we are headed.
We will be in Nalgonda, India working with India Christian Ministries working in the villages, speaking at church services, building church structures and helping with poverty relief. We will be with another co-ed team and with an all-girls team throughout the month. We are taken aback and overwhelmed with joy that it’s just SO soon!
God is so faithful to guide us to the World Race, provide us finances, and to have us so filled with excitement at the unknown – simply amazed.
We pray this last week is full of meaningful time with our loved ones, reflection on our 11 years in Tennessee together and transformative talks about how God is orchestrating all of our paths.
We are itching and ready to begin our path with the World Race, and we are so excited take this journey with YOU. Thank you for subscribing to our blog and for accepting our invitation to do life together!
Goodbye USA, Hello India.
