This month was extremely different than the last. Praise the Lord. I have literally traveled all across Kenya, by myself, and it has been divine. We started out in Nairobi where our squad got together and had our 6th month debrief, and then off I went on tiny little adventures on my own. First, I went to Kitale and did hard construction with Hugh’s team, and then I went to Isbania and fell in love with the family hosting Sisk’s team, and eventually I made my way back to the Ngong Hills with Kate’s team. The bus rides were about eight hours long and I met wonderful people along the way.
It was a wild ride. Here are some glimpses of my life in Kenya this month.
Our squad had a 4th of July party!
God moved and brought a lot into light during debrief. I personally learned a lot from it. He convicted me by revealing mistakes I had made, and gently pointed me in the right direction. What a good daddy He is.
Q, Pris and I went on a safari with Betsy and Randy! We saw giraffes, lions, zebra, water buffalo, impala, baboons (one who ran by us and jumped in our van and took off with our food trash bag) spider monkeys, eagles, rhinos, and flamingos. Such a great day with my world race family

Watched the Avengers and Snow White and the Huntsmen on bootleg with our Aussie friend Josie at Millimani
Found out I am in love with iced caffe lattes!
Helped build an orphanage/church where we mixed cement the old fashioned way. Hard labor! The next day I drew water from the well without anyone’s help: it was over 70 ft deep and I pulled up over 2 gallons worth of water. (I indeed am still an athlete ๐
Attended a 9:30 pm devotion with the hs kids at the school where we lived. Powerful. They gather together on their own, without a teacher or anything, and just worship and speak life into each other. Would this ever happen in the states? Maybe.
Had an amazing talk with Jill on the roof, then it starting raining, so we jumped and danced and then I prayed over her and spoke into her while it poured. Ahhh!
Met a woman from the states and spoke prophetically into her about her meeting her husband soon. Weird, but AMAZING. Glory to God.
Went to a church service and danced on stage with the pastor in front of the congregation
Rode on a motor bike in the rain ๐
Went to Lake Victoria, boated out to where hippos were, and then swam in the Lake and even shaved my legs, well one of them at least.

Read the Alchemist in a day, and I swear every single word was from His mouth. I would shut the book and take a break, but then I would be forced to open it again because it was like a portal straight to His throne.
I was showered by God’s love and blessings in INCREDIBLE WAYS. But in simple ways mostly, like: being able to take a hot bucket shower in candlelight because the power was out, having my shoes washed without asking, and getting chips (fries) and soda for dinner just because!
Had amazing worship with Sisk’s team. Then did listening prayers for friends and family members and even people we didn’t know for over two hours.
Fell in love with Pastor Abraham and his family from Isbania. I spent five days with his family and I am determined to return at some point.
I drove! In Africa! On the other side of the road! While sitting on the other side of the car! On the rockiest, bumpiest road ever! Who can say they have driven in Africa? This girl!
The Pastor and his wife took me to where there plot of land was for the church they are going to build. They asked me to pray over the land and prophesy over it. What an honor. I was so humbled and God gave me an incredible vision for it. Can’t wait to return when it is built! What do you say mom and dad? Travel to Africa in a few years?
Q, Pris, and I escaped for a getaway. I arranged to stay with my mom’s players’ mom’s best friend…It’s complicated, but I decided to trust God and instead of getting a hostel, blindly arranged to stay with her. Man! We stayed at her GUEST HOUSE. Had a personal chef prepare our meals, got our laundry washed, ironed, and folded, had free wifi, and amazing beds. Not to mention a real HOT shower. It was an amazing blessing to meet her and stay with her. She took us to the mall and treated us to pizza and burgers and gave us a copy of her book that she wrote…He blew our minds and spoiled us so much. Trust Him people. Even if you have to go in blind, trust that He will show up and blow you AWAY. We could have played it safe and stayed in a hostel, but look at what we would have missed out on.
Spent the night in a Maasai village! Ate sheep and chipati. Visited the school there and got swarmed by the children who spoke three languages. Danced and sang traditional Maasai songs. Peed in a dry riverbed. Heard a story about one of them being saved by a lion and living with it for 18 days: fact or fiction? Who knows, but still so cool! Flies were EVERYWHERE. I was really sick the whole time, so one of the men (who had killed a lion, so we will name him the lion killer) brought me milk, straight from the cow. Thick, chunky, and lukewarm. Yum. There’s so much more that happened, but this is just a glimpse for you all
Slept for 22 hours when we got back to the Ngong Hills. Then watched Mulan and the opening ceremony of the Olympics. Never thought I would be watching the Olympics with Kenyans .
One more fun fact: I have showered less and brushed my teeth less than I ever have. Yay for adapting to being dirty and abandoning comforts ๐
Now…I am sitting at a coffee shop in Nairobi. Waiting for Kelly to arrive at the airport around 2am tomorrow morning. Our squad is being held here in Kenya due to the Ebola outbreak in Uganda. We may be rerouted for our 8th month. Welcome to the World Race J. Plans always change and adventure is always guaranteed. So, right now, we have no idea where we will be for the month of August. Isn’t that exciting!!!
Thanks for reading, and for following along while I travel around the world with my Abba. You are such a blessing to me. Truly. Your prayers sustain me and your love encourages me daily. Feel free to email me or message me on facebook. I am always in need of encouragement.
Love, love, love.
Shout out to my Meg and Jhurell. You are in Texas, about to start a brand new life! I pray for the baby often and I am so excited for you too. Proud of you for following God’s path for you and for embarking on your own BIG adventure! Miss you guys. Can’t wait to find out if I will have a niece or nephew or double the trouble! LOVE YOU
