Well Well Well. The time is here.

Time to somehow train for this crazy adventure I am going on in a few months. Training camp starts on Sunday the 16th and lasts until the 23rd. I am flying to Atlanta tomorrow at 11 to stay at a girl from my squad's apartment (Jen Langes!) with about 20 other people and then we are caravaning to the camp on Sunday. We found out we are the "D" Squad and our color is grey! Apparently we will be competing against the other squads for spirit and pizzazz πŸ˜€ At camp we will finally get to meet all our squad mates after bonding over our group facebook page, skype sessions, phone calls, and text messages. Adventures in Missions has kept training details on lock because they want us to be open and receptive to whatever is planned. From what I have heard however, it is going to be intense. Some have reached an intimacy with God that they have never known before, some are broken, some are washed free of anything that is weighing them down or enslaving them, and almost everyone leaves changed with a heart more prepared for what the Lord is going to do in them and through them. I am super excited, but I am also a little nervous. I am a big cry baby and I know I will be touched emotionally countless times. (Which I am perfectly okay with!) The worship is going to be amazing as all of us unite together finally. The games, challenges, squad wars, and bonding is going to be crazy and awesome. I am just anxious to be with everyone. I have connected with a few people and it feels like we have been friends forever (shout out to Big Wes πŸ™‚ and others I am stoked to begin friendships with! We will get more of an idea of what to expect during the race, learn how to pack better and more efficiently, and probably lighter :), and we will find out what teams we are on. These teams will be who we are with 24 hours a day, everyday during the race, or until they switch the teams up at some point again. The teams are made up of 5-7 people and we have no idea who we will be with! Important stuff right there since we will get to know each other very well and will definitely see the good the bad and the ugly.

This week is a little preview of the race in other words and we will find out some very vital information and develop relationships with the 57 or so people that we will be with from January until December. Thank you again for everything. The prayer, the love, the money, the gear, the excitement, and the encouragement. I couldn't do this or have this opportunity to meet God at a camp site in Georgia with some of the most amazing people I will ever meet if it weren't for you guys. Please pray for unity within the squad, for openness and vulnerability, for the spirit to move, for amazing worship, and for chains to be broken. I will be sure to fill you in when I return, but not in detail for future racers' sake πŸ˜‰ I am off in a few hours!!!!!!

I could not agree more with this…so long comfort zone! I am all packed up and definitely kicking you to the curb!
