We spent August in
northern Mozambique, traveling around in our tents to villages to preach the
Good News. It was great to have a taste of the “real” Africa! We spent a lot of
our time praying for the sick and watching God in His miraculous power provide
healings! It’s amazing every single time. We preached at revivals and some of us even played the drums (for the first time) for worship in front of hundreds of people (they were LEGIT yamaha’s… check the picture!). After 8 months on the Race, we do anything they ask us to do. Even (and maybe especially) the embarrassing and ridiculous things! Check out a few of the beautiful people I met this month:

We were also able to
help with a few projects throughout the region including the starting of
building a wall and painting a new home (our paint was made of water mixed with
lime dust and a dash of salt… interesting!)

Traveling through
Mozambique back to Swaziland was an unforgettable journey… 36 hours smashed with
60 strangers in seats smaller than you find on an American school bus. Oh, the
joy! We made it through a flat tire, our bus wrecking into a car in the middle
of the night and the relentless blaring of old school American rap that was
turned up “to 11” during the whole trip.

You learn so much
about yourself in Africa… what you can handle that you never thought you could
and how to find true joy even in some of the most ridiculous circumstances. Of
course, it never hurts if someone (in this case, my amazing friends Jojo, Anna,
Zachie and Zeejay!) packed you chocolate/mint cake that you are able to open
during hour 30 of an insane bus ride and enjoy 🙂 Seriously, it completely
turned my day around!

This month God showed
us His goodness and taught us how to love Him by loving others, starting with
those closest to us. He continued to show us His awesome power and we look
forward to seeing even more of that in the months to come!

Peace&Love
