Well I had this long elaborate blog all typed up…I’ve been working on it since this afternoon, but then my computer froze and I lost it and it’s about to be midnight and we start our days relatively early. So lucky you I will keep this short because I really want to go to bed
The World Race is not exactly what I expected, but then again I really didn’t have too many expectations other than it will be life changing, so everyone keeps on telling me. 3 weeks in and it’s not life changing but just everyday life putting kingdom living into practice! I am learning what it’s like to be living in community and seeing everyone including myself as Christ sees us. This perspective has been made more intentionally than I have ever endeavored before…or at least in awhile. Please be praying for me and my team as we live and choose to love this out.
So check ins…if I have’t mentioned this before I will mention it now. The World Race is just as much a discipleship program as much as it is a missions program. In addition to ministry in serving our ministry host family, students and community we serve each other in discipling each other as well. We are also discipled by a team of squad leaders back in the US who also get to pour into us once a week via email through check in questions and journey markers. The point of these check ins and journey markers are to help us gain some perspective and reflect on an array of personal, spiritual, or emotional things as individuals and as a team-overall helping us grow in our relationship with the Lord.
All this to say that I greatly appreciate this and definitely see this as a ministry to us missionaries on the field!
I wanted to share with you a question that was asked in the beginning of the week. It was interesting to find out that I was the only person on our entire squad of 37 individuals to choose this answer as well. Feel free to answer it if you would like, you might have heard of this introspective question before.
If you had to choose to live without one of your 5 senses, which one would you give up and why?
I would choose to live without sight. I believe that I would be able to “see” the world in a whole new perspective. A perspective with less judgment and jealousy is how I believe I would view the world. Granted there would be a lot of things that I would miss seeing, such as people’s smiles, creative art and culture, grandiose nature, cute and cuddly animals and the list goes on. However, I would get to still enjoy these things with my other senses. I would be so attuned in conversing with people, that I wouldn’t be distracted by their countenance or looks, I would no longer have a problem with selective hearing because I would be able to solely rely on my hearing to see the beauty of nature, the sound of wind blowing, waves crashing, leaves falling. My imagination would go wild in being able to feel different textures in “seeing” art. I don’t know if my love for food could get any stronger, but taste and smell would be so on point in enjoying the art of making and eating food!
Another big reason as to why I would choose this sense is because it is through this sense that I stumble in the most in honoring and obeying the Lord. So yeah, Lord thank you for blessing me with this wonderful gift of sight. To be able to enjoy life by seeing your beautiful creation, but if you were to take it away, I wouldn’t be mad…for we live by faith, not by sight![]()

Also I am currently 72% fully funded! Please pray for these funds to come through. Shout out to Vero and Rachel who are helping me sell some thirts in Philly to help spread the gospel. Shout out to Saul (GALATIONS) for printing them for me! If you are
interested in buying a tshirt (I have youth sizes as well and they are all $20.00 a piece) and you are in the Philadelphia area, please let me know and I will contact Veronica or Rachel so they can get the shirt out to you. By the way, there is a question mark on the shirt because at the time we were uncertain of where our 11th country will be…well now we know. It will be…SPAIN!
