*Warning: if you don’t like talking about money, keep reading. We pray that God will use these words to speak to you about your perspective on money. It is His to begin with 🙂
Fundraising. We are so over it. If we were raising for just ONE of us, we would be fully funded. So, we are now hitting the frustrating part … raising the other half. Because we cannot go on the race without each other. We are married, which means there is two of us. Double the money to raise, double the gear to buy, and double the vaccinations to pay for.
If there is anything that we have learned in fundraising it is that that money we receive is NOT our money. The money we are receiving from generous donors (such as yourselves) belongs to God. And through each person who has given, God is revealing who He is to us. He is our provider. And He alone provides. But He chooses to use YOU.
I know many of you have given a very generous amount and have sowed hours of prayer into our journey. We are so thankful for each of you. We pray over each of your donations. We truly believe that God will use your seeds to impact those we will encounter over the next 11 months, which impacts the Kingdom of God. You are impacting the Kingdom of God! And your finances, encouragement, support, and prayer do not go unnoticed but us or by the Father.
Our hearts are completely humbled and we feel truly blessed to have raise $16,000 already! That is an incredible number! We celebrate that! And that is because of YOU.
But with fundraising, your emotions are never stable. One day you are excited about seeing a $500 donation in your account and the next day you feel disappointed when you don’t see any donations come in. It is the worst roller coaster ride we have ever been on! And we LOVE roller coasters.
We have made the agreement that we will not beg for people to bless us financially, but we will boldly ask. Why? Because God tells us to.
Ask boldly, believing, without a second thought. James 1:6
This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 1 John 5:14
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine. Ephesians 3:20
Ask, and it will be given to you. Matthew 7:7
To God, $32,534 is mere change. Because His bank account is endless. It overflows with an infinite amount. In choosing to go on the Race, we are choosing to trust God with every area, even the finances. And while we may worry and stress about the finances, because we are human, we ultimately trust God. If it is His will, then it is His bill. He WILL provide. He won’t call us and not provide for us. And He won’t give us more than we can handle.
We have chosen to step out in faith and pray bold prayers. We are asking God for the full amount, and then some. We are asking God to bless those who have given us, 100 fold. We are asking God, and we are asking YOU. Will you step out in faith with us?
Maybe you have a bold prayer you need to pray. Maybe you need healing. Maybe you need a breakthrough. Maybe you need salvation in your family. Whatever it is, we encourage you to ASK BOLDLY. Go to God and ask Him. Remember, nothing is too big for Him.
We also want to ask YOU a bold question: will you partner with us? Will you sow a seed into the Kingdom of God?
We still need to raise $3,000 in order to leave in September with our Squad. Our financial deadline is $20,000 by TODAY, Friday, August 21.
We know it will come in because God is good. He is faithful. He is provider.
Again, we cannot express how thankful we are for those who have partnered with us already!! We love you and boldly ask the Father to bless you.
Until next time,
Billy & Ashley Spriggs
