GOING ON THE WORLD RACE IN SEPTEMBER 2015!!
If you know us personally, you know this has been on our hearts since we met in 2011 and on October 22nd we received the acceptance phone call! (I know many other racers will relate to the emotions felt during this call!) To say the least, I sobbed on the phone as they informed me that we were accepted. I couldn’t wait to tell Billy that we would be spending our 3rd year of marriage spreading God’s word through the nations! It still hasn’t fully sunk in that we are actually preparing to go! The next 10 months are going to be exciting yet frustrating, busy yet slow, and full of many emotions as we begin the process of preparation.
What is the World Race?
“The World Race is a stretching journey into 11 countries in 11 months to serve “the least of these” while amongst real and raw community. This unique mission trip is a challenging adventure for young adults to abandon worldly possessions and a traditional lifestyle in exchange for an understanding that it’s not about you; it’s about the Kingdom.”
There really aren’t words to describe the humbling feeling of being called by God for such an adventure. He is looking for those who will say yes … and we say yes! Yes God, WE WILL GO!
Where are we going? Well, we have selected Route 5 for the September 2015 routes which will journey through:
Uganda – Rwanda – Ethiopia – India – Nepal – Malaysia –
Cambodia – Thailand – Nicaragua – Guatemala – Honduras

Why are we going? if you know us, you know that we have never desired to settle into the American Dream. Our hearts won’t let us. We can’t stay still and we won’t stay silent. We are going because God calls us to.
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
Isaiah 61:1-3
To be honest, we ourselves are among the brokenhearted and we are still a work in progress. This means that over the next several months as we prepare to launch, we will not just prepare financially, we will also prepare our hearts and souls. We know that God will break us and that we will have to face some of the deepest parts of our hearts. More so, we believe that God will mold us to be more like Him, as He equips us to go.
We want to take YOU on the adventure with us! As we prepare, and come next September when we launch, will YOU join us? There are many ways that YOU can be apart of the journey.
1. Pray. We could not do this without prayer! It is the foundation to which we will thrive during this adventure.
2. Support. No matter the amount, every penny counts! In total, we will need to raise $34,000. The total can be quite scary, but we believe that God qualifies the called.
