The first thing I did this morning was cry.
It wasn't because I missed my L-Squad family, though I do.
It wasn't because of all the hopelessness and poverty I've seen, though I've seen plenty.
It wasn't because I was overwhelmed by the choices and culture of America, though I am.
I cried because my first thought upon waking up was how blessed I am!
It was also my last thought falling asleep last night!
I just spent 11 months traveling the world God created, seeing His beauty all around and the children He made. I am so blessed!
I got to meet and live with some of the most amazing brothers and sisters in Christ, who taught me so much about what it looks like to truly live for the Lord. I am so blessed!
My brother, sister-in-law, and niece greeted me at the NYC airport, smiles on their faces and ears ready to listen to my million stories. I am so blessed!
Upon finally reaching home, my parents and brother, Micah, greeted me with huge hugs and an incredible dinner. I am so blessed!
My church is doing VBS this week and tonight I got to share with the children about the trip that they helped support. I am so blessed!
Church family members greeted me with hugs and "Welcome home," excited to see me. I am so blessed!
In the coming weeks, I get to see the other two brothers who have offered to take me into their home until my apartment is ready and provide meals for me back in Columbus. I am so blessed!
I have an incredible job to go back to in Ohio with beautiful children to teach. I am so blessed!
Amazing friends have prayed for me throughout the past year and supported me in so many ways. I am so blessed!
So, thank you! Thank you for being a blessing in my life, whether it was through supporting me financially, praying for me, encouraging me, writing to me, and loving me. You have all been incredible support!
