This month, we have the privilege of living with some AMAZING people! Pastor Joseph and his wife, Frida, are hosting us in their home. Also living in the house are three INCREDIBLE young people. Joshua is eleven years old and one of the smartest kids you will ever meet. He runs up and gives us hugs when we arrive at home, has excellent English, and will rattle off so much information to you. He knows his stuff. Peace is sixteen and such a hard worker. She is sweet and loving and blessing to be around.
And then there's Aggie. Aggie is spunky and funny. She is loud and energetic and fun to be around. She's easy to connect with and we have connected through talking about teaching.
Teaching…. I love teaching! And I'm so excited to go back! But, I would be lying if I said I didn't get tired and worn out from it. I'd also be lying if I said I never complained about it. There are days when 25 students seems like so many, like I am at school FOREVER, and like I can't get anything taught because the kids are out of sorts.
Talking to Aggie, though, helps put things in perspective. Reminds me that my job, that teaching, is such a blessing and I need to be thankful for the blessings of ONLY having 25 students and not having to be at work at 5 AM, and that I have an incredible aide to help with the class. No, I have NO reason to ever complain about my job.
So, as I prepare to head back into the classroom in three months, I am thankful and counting my blessings and praying for Aggie as she takes her energy and enthusiasm with her into her class each day, as she loves them with the love the Lord pours through her, and impacts lives for Him.
