"What lies is Satan telling you?"
"What lies are you believing?"
"What are the lies that hold you back?"
These are the questions that hafve challenged me over the past two months. You see, I understood that Satan attacks, but I did not understand how much believing his lies have kept me from serving the Lord with all that I am and all that I have.
As I prayed over these questions, I filled a whole page with the lies Satan has been telling me that I have believed. Lies that have kept me from finding my identity in Christ. Lies that have kept me from using my gifts and talents for the Lord. Lies that have kept me from loving as He loves.
How do I fight these lies?
With the TRUTH!
God has given the Holy Spirit to counsel me, to guide me, to show me the TRUTH. To remind me of the TRUTH that God gives in His word.
When Satan attacks me with lies, the Spirit flights back with TRUTH!
LIE: I can't do that. I am not talented enough.
TRUTH: He equips me with everything I need. (Philippians 4:13)
LIE: I don't belong or fit in.
TRUTH: I belong to God. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)
LIE: I don't have anything valuable to say.
TRUTH: God wants me to share His story of what He has done. (2 Timothy 1:8)
LIE: I am not loveable.
TRUTH: He loves me so much, He gave His one and only Son for ME! (1 John 4:10-12)
LIE: I am not pretty enough.
TRUTH: I am beautifully and wonderfully made. (Psalm 139:13-17)
LIE: I am too scared.
TRUTH: God has not given me a spirit of fear. (2 Timothy 1:7)
LIE: I am not worth it.
TRUTH: I am chosen. (1 Peter 2:9)
LIE: I am a failure.
TRUTH: He never fails and my life is His. (Lamentations 3:22-23)
