Last week, we had the privilege of spending four days at the orphanage 24/7 to help take care of the kids.

While it was tiring and trying at times, it was such a blessing to be with the kids, love them, and have them love on us.

Here is a little glimpse of each day:

5:25                        Hear Connie, the night lady, up and knowing it was time to get the kids up and out of bed.

5:30-6:15              Get the kids up, showered, and dressed, and make sure they clean their rooms. Pretty sure Connie could have done this completely by herself. That woman is amazing!

6:15-6:30              Morning devotions. This consisted of one of us telling a story while someone translated.

6:30-7:00              Breakfast (which consisted of pancakes, various kinds of cereal, other normal breakfast foods).

7:00-8:00              Kids leave for school and two of us go with them. The rest of us clean up from breakfast and get our breakfast ready.

8:00-11:30           Eat breakfast, get showers, watch/ play with Rosita and Henry (the two little ones who  didn’t go to school), lose Angelo (just temporarily one day), clean, laundry, try to sneak in some personal time.      Usually a couple people went to the market during this time and occasionally a couple of us attending an audience (court hearing) for one of the kids.

11:30-1:00           Prepare and eat our lunch, help with lunch prep for the kids, set the table, make lots of tortillas.

1:00-2:00              Kids return home from school, eat lunch, and we wash dishes, and dishes, and more dishes.

2:00-4:00              Attempt to help the kids with their homework, even though we don’t know Spanish.

4:00-6:00              Play time. Play jacks 57 times, jump on the trampoline, have tickling battles, push kids on the swings.

6:00-6:30              Prep for supper. Make more tortillas.

6:30-7:00              Supper.

7:00-7:30              Clean up from supper. Wash more dishes.

7:30-8:30              More play time.

8:30-9:00              Evening devotions.

9:00                        Bedtime. Huge sigh of relief. Thank God for helping us through another day
