How many miracles have you witnessed in your lifetime? Honestly, I think we see more miracles than we even know! I love reading about miracles that other people witness and I look forward to witnessing some of my own miracles on the World Race, but I am reminded frequently of several of the miracles that have taken place in my life that have brought me closer to my Father and reminded me that He is GREAT and I can trust Him completely. My next few posts will be some of the miracles I have seen in my life and the lives of those around me.
Miracle #1:
Growing up, we didn't have a lot of money, but we always had what we needed. I don't know how we managed, but I never really worried that we wouldn't have food on the table. My parents didn't really share what our financial status was and I was never seriously concerned because I knew God would provide.
When I was a senior in high school, my parents decided to adopt my little (well, not so little now!) brother, Micah. The summer after I graduated, I came home to my mom frustrated and upset because of some unexpected expenses that came up for the adoption; expenses for which they could not pay. Unsure of what to do or how to comfort my Mom, I walked down the driveway to get the mail, praying the whole way that God would provide the money they needed and not only would He provide it, but that it would be in the mail that day. As I pulled the mail from the mailbox, I was disappointed that I didn't see anything that looked like anything that would possibly have the money or a check. As my Mom opened the mail, though, she discovered a couple checks in the mail that covered the costs they needed for Micah's adoption!
It seems like a small miracle, but those checks in the mail allowed my parents to adopt Micah Joel and make him part of our family, and our family would definitely not be the same without him!
