My beloved JAZ girls…
I have spent this past month mainly working with girls from 9-17 years old that live in an all girl home due to their past. I’ve been leading bible studies with Samantha McGuire , helping tutor with Jamie Smith and Majil Franz and overall hanging out and getting to know and share our lives together.
On multiple occasions the girls have hi-jacked my camera and taken super cute pictures. I want you all to get to see the beautiful faces along with some of the voices of these girls. If you get to the end, you can see messages that some of the girls left me. SUPER CUTE.
I know the video might not have the same effect on you, but it makes me tear up. I know these girls and love them very much, and to be honest I will probably never see these girls again once I leave the Philippines. It is hard to say, and it breaks my heart but it might be the truth.
It was hard to talk to some of the girls the last days of our bible studies… On our second to last bible study, our little Annie just wept as she told us not to leave… On our last day they greeted us with a sign saying “Goodbye Tita Sam and Bea, We Love You!” We weren’t expecting it and my eyes started letting out little tears.
I want so much for these girls. They all have big dreams, and I know they can achieve them because the bible says, “All things are possible through Christ Jesus who strengthens me.” The bible says we can even move mountains if we had the faith to do it!
And I have faith…. Faith that God will move their mountains, all those struggles that they have gone through in life are only going to make them stronger. They will have the greatest life they can ever live in their obedience to God.
Man, oh man, I cannot stress it enough! These girls WILL make a difference, I’ve seen their hearts, heard some stories, and listened to the faintest whispers of their big dreams.
Those mountains will move, their love will explode and they will accomplish great, great things… JAZ GIRLS, ATE BEA LOVES YOU SO MUCH!
