To set the mood:
Training camp was CRAZY. I cried, many times, but not in a bad way.
Everything at training camp was incredibly intentional and necessary to prepare us for our 11 month mission trip, props to all the staff that put in such a tremendous amount of work in putting it all together. We were broken and put back together again, with the awesomeness of God's glue.
I am incredibly excited and grateful for my team, FUEGO DE DIOS (fire of God). Hebrews 12:28-29 28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. 29 For our God is a consuming fire.
This was when we were announcing our team name to the rest of the Z-Squad.
THE GIRLS
This is Marian Padilla. She graduated from USC and majored in Neuroscience. She is hilarious and her joy and out going personality radiates from her in any room she steps into.
This is Amanda Brucki. She majored in Social work and lives in Colorado. Ama is hilarious and loves classic rock just like me! She is silly and can bring a smile to anyone.
This is Michelle Lasko. She is from Canada and currently works at a Radio Station. She has a gentle spirit with a wonderful listening ear and a joy that illuminates her.
THE BOYS
This is David Mergl. He attends Cal Poly SLO. Hooray for sister schools! 🙂 He has a gentle, warm, and strong spirit. He has very understanding and you can feel the love he has for those surrounding him.
Lastly, and most definitely not least, we have our fearless leader Nick Hayden. Nick graduated from Texas A &M and majored in Finance. Not only is he a natural born leader but he is also encouraging, open to the opinions of the rest of our team, and brings a strong presence of protection for our team.
I adore my team, I know God hand choose this team before I ever even knew these people existed. I see the balance between us all and love that each of us bring different gifts that God has given us. I feel loved, safe, and understood by my new beautiful family and have this verse for them and the rest of my family in Christ.
Philippians 1:3-6 3 I thank my God every time I remember you. 4 In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy 5 because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, 6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
