Hey all,

I started to write this blog on January 25th, but I’ve been caught up with school that I haven’t be able to finish it! Recently, I went to Destino’s Winter Conference in San Antonio Texas where I got to meet brothers and sisters from all around the nations.

One of the biggest things that God showed me is that I am “Brown for a Reason”. As most of you know my family is from El Salvador but I was the first one born here. I have been blessed to be a part of and understand TWO cultures, the traditional American culture, as well as a traditional Latino culture.

I am blessed to be able to see the perspective of both cultures, and understand a wider range of people. For those of you that have heard about Hofstede’s culture dimensions, the following are dimensions for the United States and El Salvador.

The United States

El Salvador

For those of you that look at these charts and are like “WHAT?!?” I don’t want to give a HUGE lesson on it LOL, but basically these cultures are very different, specifically in masculinity, individualistic/collectivistic, and uncertainty avoidance dimensions.

God has given me the ability to understand these dimensions, and understand people from different cultures! 🙂

Moreover, on an outward appearance, God has blessed me to look like people from different nations! As a Latina, I can look like (MANY, I get this often) native people, Indian, Asian, etc. It is actually quite awesome!!! I don’t want to keep rambling about how awesome this is for me so, my blog ends here with a video from conference. 🙂
