God speaks. I’m thankful that He continues to prove that, and that He loves to remind me. This week, the whole thing with the van has been such an amazing adventure. First of all, who does this? (That’s my new fav phrase!) In my quiet times all week, the Lord has just been telling me to trust and to obey. That day we went shopping for the van I felt like He said specifically, “Ashley, I trust your ability to be obedient.” I needed that when we stopped as a team to pray for instructions on buying our van. I didn’t hear God say don’t pay more than $1800, but at that moment….during our prayer, I heard it again. I had even written the word Obey on my hand so that I wouldn’t forget. All the logic in my head told me that time was running out and that a decision needed to be made. But God said be obedient. I spoke out on what I felt the Lord was saying, and the rest is just a story of God’s power and ability to do exactly what He wants. We have a van now, the coolest van in my opinion. It’s the Lord’s van too, and He must have big plans for it. If the rest of this trip is anything like this first week, then be prepared to see a different Ashley in 11 months. I’m coming home walking in faith. (Oh and by the way, I’m getting the rest of my support in somehow. God will do it. It’s just another part of this faith adventure.) So if you’re the person out there with the burden to support God’s work on this trip through me, all I can say is be obedient. He’s faithful to us all.
